Time. What a precious thing? (Record scratch) Time can be a very vicious thing. Time seems to be something no one has anymore. Thats interesting because, we believe we "have" time, but did you notice, we can't buy time, we can't buy anymore time, we don't have time? It is just a measure that we use to clock our every move. Gotta get my daughter to the dentist, help my son with his pre college homework (even though he is only in the fifth grade) mail the bills off, do the laundry, run errands, oh yeah I can't forget get to work, and be sure I give them a hunderd percent of my "time", get blood up from the bathroom from my son's bloody nose, scroll through the daily news (being sure to only click on the stuff that looks important, because I don't have that much "time", text close friends good morning, remind my daughter to brush her teeth three times a day since she has braces, get the oil changed, renew the registration on the car, and the list goes on. The world has run out of so much "time" that we now communicate nonverbally, and society is okay with that. Not me. What happen to picking up the phone, and saying Merry Christmas? What happened to actually mailing a birthday invitation, instead of sending an Evite? What happen to walking into a store and trying clothes on, feeling the the texture of the garment, and interacting with people? Now you can just shop online. Even though I like this next one.. it still hits my point.. The dreaded parent teacher conference, and thats when you would see your kid's grade, now the school gives me a link and I can see what work they haven't turned in, daily assignments, what they ate, and yes grades. Hilarious. Why, because I don't have the "time". I know its hard to "find", and "make" time.
What if you had no "time". What would you do?
If you had an additional hour to your day, what would you really do with it?
Genesis 6:3 Then the Lord said, "My Spirit will not put up with humans for such a long time for they are only mortal flesh.
I believe the Lord is the only one who gives time. We can't bargain, buy, beg our way for more time. But, what we can do with time, is spend every moment being thankful for the little things that we think take up our time. I challenge us to see every moment as greatfulness... The next "time" we have a flat tire, instead of it being a nuisance, let it serve as a reminder that it must be nice to have a car, the next "time your heart is broken, and it hurts so bad, let it be a reminder that you are able to feel, the next "time" you feel like you can't take another day at your job, let it be a reminder that you are employed in this tough economy, the next time you feel as if you just can't go on, let it be it a reminder that we actually have the choice to move forward.
Until next time.. God bless.
Now in some parts of this article i feel as if it were really just talking to me. I use the line all the time. I always say i don't have time and i really do. Well sometimes. I need to make time for things that are important. But this has taught me to say that i need to make time for things that are imortant in my life
